PreK at Horizon Honors

Our Program

The Pre-K Program at Horizon Honors

This unique and well-respected Pre-Kindergarten program is designed for students turning four by August 31st who are eager to learn and build confidence in their academic skills in an individualized, caring and developmentally sensitive class. Pre-Kindergarten is designed and taught to prepare the students to move on to Kindergarten the following year.

The program is a play-based learning environment, where pre-kinder students are introduced to new ideas and exciting experiences. This exploratory play is accentuated by structured activities and lessons that are shared with students during whole group, small group and 1:1 scheduled time.

The goal is to get children active in their environment, excited about learning, and engage them in critical thinking and problem-solving. Emphasis is placed on preparing children for kindergarten, while helping them grow self-confidence, and learn the social skills to work with others.

The Arizona “Early Learning through Third Grade Academic Standards” are the basis for the unique and original curriculum design.

Program Hours – 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

2027-2028 Tuition – $9,000

Program Philosophy

This is the time when children gain an understanding of themselves in the larger world, the school setting. With each year they add to their knowledge base both academically and socially while gaining a stronger sense of themselves.

The philosophy is that children learn while doing, maintaining better retention when they have positive memories attached to those learning experiences. Using music, games, art, stories, and play are great ways to keep pre-kinder students happy and engaged. This pre-k classroom is welcoming, exciting and safe.
